Operational Risk Horizon 2021: Emerging risks in focus

The Operational Risk Horizon 2021 report from our study on emerging risks is now available to purchase. Over 45 financial institutions took part in this study, sharing their views on what constitutes an emerging operational risk and which emerging risks they were most concerned about.

The results have been drawn together into a comprehensive report which covers our headline findings. The report explores the relationships between different emerging risk categories and factors, as well as specific themes, such as digitalisation, and how these impact institutions’ risk profiles. The report also examines five key emerging risk categories in more detail, including emerging technologies, advanced cybercrime and climate risk.

top risk review: Material risks in focus

The twice-yearly Top Risk Reviews survey individuals working in operational risk in the financial services sector on their views of the most significant current material risks impacting the industry. The studies also dive into the key drivers of these risks and how they change over time.

Both Top Risk Review reports (published in June and November) are now available to buy. The reports provide up-to-date insights into the key current top operational risks facing the financial services industry, with results based on the personal opinions of risk professionals from across our global membership of financial firms.

Overall, the latest Top Risk Review reflects the industry's current strategic priorities, with digital transformation heavily impacting the top three risks – information security (including cyber), technology, and third-party risk.
